Our parent company, All American Exterior Solutions, has installed and maintained commercial roofs across Chicagoland for decades — so our solar designs start from the membrane up. Ballasted where the structure allows it, attached where it doesn’t, penetrations flashed by people who do it for a living, and the roof warranty coordinated in writing before a single panel goes up.

The incentive picture for businesses is genuinely different from the residential one. Commercial and third-party-owned projects can still qualify for federal investment-credit value under the current transition rules — but the windows are deadline-driven and depend on when your project starts construction and is placed in service, so timing matters more this year than it ever has. On the state side, Illinois Shines runs dedicated commercial capacity blocks, and as an Approved Vendor (No. 2327) we contract the REC value directly into your proposal. We’ll walk your project through exactly what it qualifies for — in writing, before you commit.
How a commercial project runs
Assessment — roof condition, structure, electrical service, and 12 months of usage data. Proposal — production modeling, layout, structural letter, incentive analysis, and financing options. Approvals — permits and ComEd interconnection, managed by us. Installation — scheduled around your operations, with the roof protected and documented daily.
FAQ
Will solar void our roof warranty?
Not if it’s designed with the roof manufacturer’s requirements in front of us. We coordinate attachment details and flashing with the membrane warranty in writing — this is the part of the job our roofing history exists for.
Does a flat roof need penetrations?
Often no. Ballasted racking sits on the membrane with engineered weight instead of anchors — when the structure supports it. Where attachment is required, penetrations are flashed and documented like the roofing work they are.
Our roof is due for replacement in a few years. Solar now?
Re-roof first — or at minimum, plan the array so it doesn’t have to come off twice. We quote the honest sequence even when it delays the solar sale.
How long does ComEd interconnection take for commercial systems?
Longer than residential, and it varies with system size and your service. We manage the application and give you a realistic timeline in the proposal rather than a best-case one.
